SHRI DAYALJIBHAI G. PATEL CO-OPERATIVE MANAGEMENT CENTRE

Co-operative Training School Establishment:

The history of the institution traces back to June 23, 1947 in Surat City with its initial location being the building of Lely Weaving School. Later it was relocated to a museum near Makkai Bridge and in 1952, it found a new home on Dil Aram Dayalji Road in Nanpura. Finally, from 1975 to 1976 it operated from the building of Surat District Co-operative Sangh in Hiramanek Mohalla, also in the Nanpura area of Surat city.

Formation of the Construction Committee (April 31, 1984):

Resolution No. 10 in the Board of Meeting of the Gujarat State Cooperative Union led to the formation of a construction committee for the Shri D. G. Patel Cooperative Management Centre.The foundation stone was laid for the construction of the Gujarat Cooperative Management Centre on 1 December 1985.

Inauguration of Shri Dayalji Govindji Patel Cooperative Management Centre (February 25, 1989):

The centre was inaugurated on 14 August 1992 by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Amarsinhbhai Chaudharyand other prominent cooperative leaders.

Training Offered:

The centre offers a 20-week Diploma in Cooperative Management basic course covering various subjects such as cooperative principles, history, management, administration, laws, accounting, audit, business development planning, and computer applications

Inauguration of Sri Ballubhai D. Desai Women’s Co-operative Hostel (30/01/1999):

The women’s hostel was constructed to provide accommodation for female trainees and it was inaugurated by Shri B.S. Vishvnathan, President NCUI in the august presence of the then Chief Minister Shri Amarsinhbhai Chaudhary and presided over by Shri Ghanshaymbhai Amin Chairman of Gujarat State Co-Operative Union on 30 January 1999.
