The Gujarat State Cooperative Union established cooperative management centres in Surat, Nadiad, Mehsana, and Bhavnagar, aiming to serve different regions of Gujarat.
Cooperative Management Centres are designated for specific regions: Surat for South Gujarat districts, Nadiad for Central Gujarat, Mehsana for North Gujarat, and Bhavnagar for Saurashtra and Kutch.
Trainees from remote districts like Kutch and Jamnagar face difficulties in accessing the training centre in Bhavnagar.
Responding to submissions and demands from cooperative workers in Rajkot, Surendranagar, Jamnagar, and Kutch, the N.C.U.I.-N.C.T. recommended establishing a co-operative management centre in Rajkot.
With the support of Mr. Ghanshyambhai Amin, Chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Union, the Gujarat Cooperative Management Centre was inaugurated in Rajkot on April 1, 1997, operating at Saharkar Triveni Bhavan in the Karanpara area of Rajkot city.
The Rajkot Centre offers various courses, including 20 Week Diploma in Co-operative Management (DCM) courses and short-term training classes for different types of banking and credit societies.
