(i) The Union runs 6 cooperative training centers which are located at Nadiad, Mehsana, Surat, Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Ahmedabad. Diploma courses in cooperation are conducted besides may short-term courses. GSCU conducts 20 weeks Diploma in Co-operative Management (DCM) for students & various high-level programs for Dairies, Fisheries, Banking, Credit & Housing are also conducted at these six co-operative training centers.
(ii) Various need-based programs for Dairies, Fisheries, Banking, Credit & Housing are conducted at these six co-operative training centers.
(iii) The union organizes special training programs for senior officers and Board of Directors of urban cooperative banks on key areas of crucial importance such as RBI Guidelines, BR Act Amendment, Gujarat Co-operative Societies Act etc.
(iv) Besides this, useful training material is designed and published by Gujarat State Co-operative Union on the following topics time and again:
(1) Concurrent Audit and Profitability
(2) Emerging Responsibilities of Board of Directors
(3) Grading system of urban cooperative banks
(4) C-A-M-E-Ls (Capital, Assets Quality, Management, Earnings, Liquidity and Systems) Rating for urban Co-operative banks
(5) The returns to be submitted by urban Co-operative banks to RBI and other agencies.
The copies of this material were made available to UCBs free of cost and also distributed free of cost to the participants of the training programs.
(iv) CEIs (Co-operative Education Instructors) also conduct special training program for credit societies, milk societies and urban Co-operative banks on management aspects, law, accounts/audit etc.
