Centrally Sponsored Project for Computerization of PACs Gujarat State Co-operative Union, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

In order to make PACS self-reliant in tune with ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’, the Government of India has, on 29/06/2022 approved the Centrally Sponsored Project for Computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies for a period of five years from 2022-23 to 2026-27. As a State Level Institution, partial responsibility for providing training for the Computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies in Gujarat was given to the Gujarat State Co-operative Union.

The Details of the Project:

Name of the Scheme: “Computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies”
Training provided by: Certified Master Trainers (including employees of Gujarat State Co-operative Union) approved by BIRD, Lucknow (an autonomous institution promoted by NABARD).
Training Duration: One day Training
Training Language: Gujarati
Training Period: May – 2023
Implementation of the Project: at Central Level by NABARD
Objectives of the Scheme:

  1. Increasing the efficiency of the operations of PACS.
  2. Speedy disbursal of loans, lowering of transaction costs, reducing imbalances in payments.
  3. Seamless accounting with DCCBs and StCBs and increase transparency.
  4. Enhancing trustworthiness in the working of PACS among farmers.
  5. Implementation of Common Accounting System (CAS) and Management Information System (MIS) enabling PACS to carry out their operations online and obtain refinance/ loans for their various activities from NABARD through DCCBs and StCBs.

Role of Gujarat State Co-operative Union :

Gujarat State Co-operative Union has a wide network to provide Training and Education in Gujarat. It has its Junior Co-operative Training Centers located in six different districts of Gujarat which covers the purview of different nearby districts. All training Centers are run and managed by the Gujarat State Co-operative Union. All Centers are fully furnished and technology savvy with Classroom, Hall, projector, etc facilities.

Under the PACs Computerization vision of the Government of India, 63000 PACs of India were targeted to benefit under the scheme. Out of which Gujarat State Co-operative Union trained approx 3900 PACs of Gujarat located in different districts covering Ahmedabad, Amreli, Mahesana, Kheda, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Banaskantha, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodra, Valsad.
